We are delighted to announce that glyXera is a beneficiary partner in the MiRAGE cooperation project together with the Laboratory for Biomaterials of the RWTH Aachen University, the Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials, and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The project started in February 2022 and is funded with over 2.1 million euro by the National Bioeconomy Strategy Initiative of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The MiRAGE project is centered around the development of an automated countercurrent flow reactor for enzymatic glycan synthesis based on a genuine biohybrid platform technology, including fast and sensitive glycan analysis by capillary electrophoresis with fluorescence detection (CE-FLR) as a process analytical technology (PAT). Microgel immobilized enzyme cascades will be integrated into a new type of continuously operated, compartmented biocatalytic flow reactor.
With its scientific and technological expertise in the field of glycan analysis, glyXera will contribute the fast and sensitive at-line glycoanalysis system needed for optimization, validation, and monitoring of the automated countercurrent flow reactor. In addition to a fast, automatable sample preparation, a rapid CE-FLR analysis method coupled to an automatic, software-based process monitoring will be developed.
